What you can expect: lots of food, fireworks and of course the famous dragon dance to celebrate the traditionally New Year. Then the Lion/Dragon will go into the China Town of Amsterdam to bring hpiness to all the Chinese shops and restaurants. Several perfrmances by Chinese muicins and cabaret artists. See you little red bags pass? This is the happiness money that children receive from adults for the coming year. Kung Hai Fat Choi! (Happy New Year!)

The Spectacular Gay Parade on the first saturday of August with the famous Canal Parade also a lot of boats go by with colourfull happy people, Street Celebrations, Parties, You don't have to be gay to enjoy these festivities. NEMO is the largest science centre in the Netherlands. the building is built like a ship and is near central Station. Worth wile to visit. Children would love it.
Skating on the Canals is a wonderful experience
